Meet the Irving Team Behind Vance Gate Repair Irving
When Adrian Vance started taking gate calls in Irving back in 2014, it was just him, a truck, and a multimeter. Eleven years later, the Irving crew is a tight group of technicians and coordinators who show up to every job with the same habit: name the problem, write the price, do the work, document it. All of us live within 20 minutes of the Irving job sites we run, and most of us have worked together for more than five years. You’ll see familiar faces on repeat visits, which is exactly how we want it.
Our People
Marcus T. – Lead Technician, Irving Service Area
Marcus has been with Vance Gate Repair Irving since 2017, which makes him the longest-tenured tech on the local crew behind Adrian. He came up through commercial access-control installation, and he’s the guy other techs call when a Viking or FAAC board is doing something that doesn’t match the wiring diagram. Marcus holds an OSHA-30 card and is certified on LiftMaster and DoorKing operator systems. He keeps a small notebook in his truck where he sketches the control wiring of every unusual gate he works on, a habit he picked up from Adrian on a 2016 apartment-complex job in Las Colinas. On Saturdays you’ll find him rebuilding a 1974 Honda CB750 in his garage, and yes, he will talk about it if you ask.
Elena R. – Senior Installer, Gates & Weldments
Elena joined the Irving crew in 2019 after six years doing ornamental iron and structural welding for a regional fabricator. She handles most of the ground-up gate installations in Irving, including the steel posts still in the ground and the weld repair work older gates tend to need in this area’s clay soil. Elena is AWS-certified in stick and MIG welding, and she’s the one we send when a 20-year-old driveway swing gate has cracked at the hinge. Her first week at Vance, she re-hung a sagging double gate in the Hackberry Creek area that two other companies had said needed full replacement. It didn’t. She straightened the frame, re-welded the hinge mounts, and that gate is still opening clean today. Elena grew up in El Paso and still thinks the best breakfast in Irving is the chilaquiles at a tiny spot off Belt Line she refuses to name publicly.
DeShawn M. – Service Coordinator, Dispatch & Estimates
DeShawn is the voice on the phone most hours of the day, and he’s been with the Irving location since 2020. He worked dispatch for a DFW plumbing company before that, so he knows how to ask the questions that separate a doorbell-camera call at midnight from an actual gate emergency. DeShawn coordinates technician schedules, builds the written estimates before work begins, and keeps the photo documentation file for every completed job in Irving. He’s the reason our written-price-before-work rule works: DeShawn checks part pricing in the system and gets the quote ready before a tech even turns the truck around. Off the clock, he coaches 12-and-under basketball at a rec center near MacArthur High and loses his voice every February.
Andre W. – Apprentice Technician, Motors & Openers
Andre joined the team in early 2024 after finishing a two-year industrial maintenance program at Dallas College. He works under Marcus on motor and opener service, learning the nine brands we repair, from BFT to Mighty Mule and everything between. Andre does the grunt work that matters: checking photo-eye alignment, running new low-voltage wire where heat in attics has cooked the old stuff, verifying that a gate’s stop points match the limit settings in the operator manual. He carries a laser measure and a note card in his pocket for every job, and he’s not done until he has photographed the work exactly how the Haven Standard requires. The guy genuinely likes gates, which is not something you can train. He’s 24, the youngest on the Irving crew, and he’s first in line for every Sunday-morning emergency call because he wants the reps.
One Standard, Every Job

The four of us, plus Adrian, work under one promise in Irving: a written price before any tool comes out, a photo record of what was found and what was changed, and a full year to make any repair right at no extra charge. That’s what Adrian set up in 2014 when he moved from commercial access-control work into residential gates, and it hasn’t loosened since. Each tech on this page runs their jobs the same way whether it’s a $150 limit switch adjustment in Valley Ranch or a full operator replacement near MacArthur Boulevard. Uniformed, background-checked, and carrying a documented file on every single visit. No surprises, no sudden invoices, no “we’ll send that estimate later.” The standard holds because the people hold it.
