• You hear a metallic creak or pop during travel. That’s a cracked weld flexing under load. It won’t get better with grease, and it will get worse every cycle until the section separates.
• Opener arm bracket shows rust bloom around the mounting bolts. The bracket is flexing against the gate frame. The rust line is the tell: it means the powder coat cracked, water got in, and the metal beneath is working.
